Egypt came from a goal down to beat New Zealand 3-1 in the World Cup.

New Zealand started on the front foot as Marko Stamenic had a glorious chance, but Oufa Shobeir came to Egypt’s rescue. Pressure finally paid off for New Zealand when Finn Surman rose high to head the ball home and break the deadlock. Omar Marmoush’s effort from outside the box was saved, while Mo Salah’s free kick went wide off the post.

After the halftime break, Egypt responded well, and Mostafa Ziko levelled things for the Pharaohs’ side. Mohammed Salah then completed the turnaround after a lovely exchange with Ziko. Trezeguet then came off the bench to seal the win from Salah’s corner kick.

Egypt now leads Group G with 4 points from 2 games, while Iran and Belgium are tied with 2 points, and New Zealand has 1 point.
