Manchester United Held by 10-Man Tottenham in Dramatic Draw at Old Trafford.

Tottenham dominated much of the opening period but failed to convert their chances. Dominic Solanke saw an early effort saved by Senne Lammens, while Lucas Bergvall fired wide and Conor Gallagher had a shot blocked. Both sides went into the break goalless, as United did not register a shot on target.

In the second half, Spurs were on top once again as Savinho threatened the United goal. United improved after making substitutions, including Carlos Baleba and Joshua Zirkzee. Bryan Mbeumo opened the scoring in the 73rd minute, finishing after a pass from Matheus Cunha. Five minutes later, Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off for headbutting Luke Shaw, leaving Spurs with ten men. However, Dominic Solanke rescued a point with a header in the 90+2nd minute to the disappointment of the United faithful.

Speaking after the game, Michael Carrick expressed his disappointment: “I don’t think it was necessarily harder when it was 10 men. I think it was just that Spurs ended up scoring, but I don’t think it was necessarily harder today with that…” “We should have killed the game before.” He said.
