Harambee stars Head coach Engin Firat has resigned from his role as the head coach of the national team. This comes after he failed to lead Harambee stars to African games(AFCON)next year in Morocco.
The resignation comes as a surprise as Firat had earlier on started that he will be in charge of national team in CHAN competition early next year.

According to statement from Football Kenya Federation (FKF) states that,“We acknowledges receipt of an official resignation notice from the Harambee Stars head coach, Engin Firat, submitted earlier this week.

In the spirit of transparency and accountability to Kenyans, who remain the greatest stakeholders in football, FKF finds it necessary to address this development through an official statement.

We assure the public that FKF is committed to addressing this matter promptly.

Following internal consultations with relevant stakeholders, we will announce the way forward regarding the national team’s technical leadership.

The coach’s resignation is linked to pending arrears, an issue the Federation is actively working to resolve.

While we aim to secure a replacement within the shortest time possible, due process and thorough internal deliberations will guide our actions.

We understand that this transition may create some uncertainty around the national team.

As we continue to rebuild Kenyan football after challenging times, we reaffirm our commitment to providing stability and progress for the Harambee Stars.”
