Liverpool signed off 2024 with an impressive 5-0 win over West Ham at London Stadium.
Arne Slot’s side extended their gap at the top of the Premier League standings after another brilliant display. Luis Diaz opened the scoring after his initial effort was intercepted by Coufal. Cody Gakpo then added the second goal for Liverpool after Salah found him at the far post. Kudus then was denied by the post, as it was West Ham’s best chance of the first half. Salah then scored his 20th goal of the season in all competitions after beating Areola in the near post.
In the second half, the slot side was unfinished as Alexander Arnold’s long-range effort deflected off Kilman for the fourth goal. Diogo Jota then rounded off a comfortable night for the Slot side by scoring the fifth goal for Liverpool.
Speaking after the game, Mo Salah issued an update on contract talks. “We are far away from that.I don’t want to put stuff in the media and have people talk about it. The only thing in my mind is for Liverpool to win the Premier League.” He said.
