Chelsea snapped their winless streak in the Premier League as they beat Southampton 4-0.

Cole Palmer saw his effort early in the game saved by Aaron Ramsdale as his struggle in goal continued. The resulting corner kick saw Christopher Nkunku open the scoring with a beautiful header across the face of the goal. They doubled the lead when Pedro Neto slotted in a powerful effort in the near post after being set up by Nkunku. Chelsea goalkeeper Jorgensen brilliantly denied Southampton a goal after an Onuachu header. Levi Colwill added a third just before the break after a free kick by Pedro Neto.

In the second half, Chelsea piled on the pressure, but it was Palmer who continued to struggle in goal as his effort sailed above the crossbar. Nkunku was also denied his second goal of the night as Ramsdale tipped his effort up the post.Marc Cucurella added a fourth goal for Enzo Maresca’s side after a beautiful counterattack.

Speaking after the game, Enzo Maresca backed Christopher Nkunku to give more “I am happy with him. But I know he can give more. We expect more from him.”. “But at the same time, we try to understand him. He is not a number nine and not a winger. He played as a winger tonight. He is an attacking midfielder”.He said.
