Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has issued an update on the injury of Rodri.
Rodri has been out injured since last year after being taken off during the game against Arsenal. He was ruled out for the rest of the season, but he himself insisted that he would be back before the Premier League season concludes. Manchester City have surely missed him, as they are not fighting for the title but the top four. They were also knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid last month in a round of 16 qualification.
Speaking after their FA Cup win, Guardiola said he is recovering faster than expected. “Rodri looks good! We won’t make stupid decisions, of course; he’s not close yet, but… touching the ball, he feels now confident and happy.”. “I didn’t expect this, but he could be back before the Clubs’ World Cup, already in the Premier League maybe.”. He said.
The FA Cup remains the only chance for a title for Pep Guardiola’s side this season.
