
Barcelona returned to the top of La Liga after thrashing Real Sociedad 4-0.
Real Sociedad opened the scoring through Sergio Gomez, but his goal was ruled out due to offside. Sociedad were handed a blow when captain Elustondo brought down Dani Olmo when he was clear on goal and was sent off. Gerard Martin opened the scoring after a beautiful layoff from Dani Olmo. Marc Casado added the second with Olmo setting up once again as they controlled the game.
In the second half, Lewandowski’s header from a corner kick was saved, but Ronald Araujo was quick to react and add the third goal. A few minutes later, Robert Lewandowski scored his 21st goal of the season to seal the victory for Hansi Flick’s side. Hansi Flick’s side is now unbeaten in 15 games, having won 12 and drawn 3. They are just a point above Atletico Madrid in the La Liga standings.
They face off against Benfica next in the UEFA Champions League.
