Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr. has opened up after skipping the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
There was an outburst after Real Madrid learnt that Vinicius Jr. would not win the Ballon d’Or. This caused the Madrid team to fail to attend the ceremony in which Rodri was eventually announced the winner.Madrid players and fans raised their voices through social media as they accused the France team of robbing Vinicius. Since losing the award, Vinicius promised to perform even better, but since then he has not lived up to the expectations. He has just 1 La Liga goal in the last three months, as Kylian Mbappe has been the light in their title push.
Speaking ahead of their Champions League game against Atletico Madrid,Vinicius revealed that he was told by the club not to attend the ceremony. “There are people who vote, that’s it…” I will have other chances to win more awards and titles with this club.The club asked me NOT to go to the gala… and stay in Madrid. I do what they say”.He said.
He went on to add that he is in the best club in the world and wants to stay for more years: “I’m very calm because I have a contract until June 2027, and I CAN’T WAIT to renew it.”. Real Madrid is the best place to be. I play with the best. I’m very happy”.He said.
