Liverpool defeated Arsenal 1-0 in the Premier League game played at Anfield.

Both teams went into the game joint top and unbeaten. It was a first half of limited chances for both sides. Cody Gakpo got the first opportunity in the area, but his shot went wide at Raya’s goal. Arsenal were hit a blow when William Saliba was injured early on and had to be replaced. Noni Madueke had the best chance for Arsenal from a set piece, but his shot was saved by Allison.

In the second half, Liverpool maintained their momentum but created limited chances. Raya saved Mo Salah’s attempted cross to Writz. The breakthrough came in the final quarter as Declan Rice brought Mac Allister down in the area. Dominik Szoboszlai stepped up and scored a beautiful goal to give Liverpool the lead. Arsenal responded well with Eze coming on to make his debut, but he wasted his chance as he took too long to make a shot. Liverpool are now leading the table with 9 points, and Chelsea are second with 7 points.

Speaking after the game, Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta revealed his disappointment. “I was very disappointed with the result and very proud of my players.
