Chelsea drew 1-1 with Arsenal in a Premier League game played at Stamford Bridge.
Both teams were missing several key players, but the intensity of the game never dropped. Chelsea started on the front foot as Estevao had the first chance of the game, but his effort sailed high off the bar. Enzo Fernandez then saw his tame effort from outside the box easily saved by Raya. Bukayo Saka had the best chance for the visitors, but Sanchez pushed away his effort. Moises Caicedo was sent off after a VAR review on a challenge on Merino. Both teams went into half-time goalless.
After the halftime break, Chelsea broke the deadlock through Trevor Chalobah, who scored from a Reece James corner kick. Minutes later Arsenal levelled through Merino, who met Saka’s cross. Liam Delap had a chance after coming on, but his effort was saved by Raya. Bukayo Saka had several chances, but his efforts were wide off the post. The game ended on a 1-1 draw, with Arsenal now top with 30 points, while Chelsea are in third place with 24 points.
