Bayern Leverkusen have confirmed the sacking of Erik ten Hag as their head coach.
The former Manchester United manager Ten Hag was appointed to replace current Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso. Leverkusen saw some of its key players leave the club, as Florian Wirtz and Frimpong joined Liverpool, while Granit Xhaka joined Sunderland. He has been sacked after just two Bundesliga games. The short spell included a 4–0 win against Sonnenhof Grossaspach in the DFB Pokal, a loss to Hoffenheim and a draw against Werder Bremen, both in the Bundesliga.
Speaking after his sacking, Ten Hag insisted he needed more time to implement his ideas.”The management of Samsha Leverkusen took a shock decision to place me on leave this morning. It is unprecedented to sack a coach in just two games in the league. During the summer, some of the most important players of previous seasons exited the team.” He said.
