Manchester United drew 1-1 with West Ham United in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The visitors had the first chance of the game as Casemiro blocked Matheus Fernandes’ effort off the post. Bruno Fernandes then saw his attempt easily blocked as they kept on piling the pressure. Areola was forced to make the first save of the game in the 25th minute as he tipped over Mbeumo’s looped effort. Wan Bissaka then cleared Zirkzee’s effort off the line in a first half of limited chances.
In the second half, United kept on the pressure as Luke Shaw’s effort sailed over the bar. United then got the opening goal when Diogo Dalot stood calm to convert his chance and break the deadlock. Cunha saw his effort minutes later deflected wide. West Ham then got the levelling goal when Bowen’s header was cleared off the line, but Magassa was placed to tap home the rebound. None of the teams managed to get the winner.
Speaking after the game, United manager Ruben Amorim was not happy. Angry and frustrated, that’s it. “We are really inconsistent, but if you look at the goal [conceded], we have a long ball, we have everything under control, [so] we need to do better. I am angry. That’s it. We need to be careful on details. That corner was a crucial moment.” He said.
