Manchester United were knocked out of the EFL Carabao Cup after being beaten 4-3 by Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur opened the scoring through Dominic Solanke after United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir pushed away Pedro Porro’s effort. Christian Eriksen had the best chance of United in the first half, but his effort was well blocked by Bissouma. Spurs almost got the second, but Son’s effort was pushed away by Bayindir.

In the second half, it was a game of many errors from both sides. Spurs got the second after Martinez made an error when clearing the ball and fell into Kulusevski, who scored just minutes after the restart. Dominic Solanke then added the third goal for the home side with a powerful low effort.The game was far from over as Zirkzee pulled one back for United after a mistake by Foster. Amad Diallo then added the second for United after meeting Foster attempting clearance. Son added the fourth goal for Spurs direct from a corner kick to seal the game. Jonny Evans headed the third goal for United from a corner but proved to be a consolation.

In the semifinals draw, Spurs will now face Liverpool while Arsenal will face Newcastle United.
