Newcastle United have responded to a social media post made by Alexander Isak.
The Swedish international striker has not been training with the team in the effort to make a transfer happen. He has been heavily linked with Liverpool, but Newcastle United have not opened doors for his exit. They even rejected a £120m bid from Liverpool.
Alexander Isak broke his silence after being included in the PFA team of the season last season.”The reality is that promises were made, and the club has known my position for a long time. To now act as if these issues are only emerging is misleading. When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can’t continue.” He wrote.
However, Newcastle took no time to respond and insisted he still has a contract at the club “We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening. We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer.” Read the statement.
