Arsenal have officially signed Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad on a four-year contract with an option for one more season.
According to reports, the deal is worth €32m plus €5m in add-ons. Merino had indicated that he only wanted an Arsenal move despite two other proposals from Spain; Arteta had him at the top of the list. The deal has been officially sealed.
Mikel Merino is expected to bolster Arsenal’s midfield and is poised to assist Thomas Partey and Declan Rice in defensive midfield.
