The forward has sixteen goals against his name in the National Super League (NSL) top scorer Nyamawi Beja will certainly be a hot product when the off-season transfer window opens.

Despite missing the first five rounds of the campaign, Beja, who plies his trade with SS Assad leads the scoring charts in the second-tier courtesy of the sixteen goals he has netted.

Already, the 23-year old has attracted interest from AFC Leopards, Kariobangi Sharks and Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC, home to Kenyan international Kenneth Muguna.

The forward who is commonly known as Lampard revealed that, it has been a normal occurrence for new callers to reach out from the time he hit double digits in the Super League.

“Three clubs have already contacted me and tabled offers. I will begin studying the offers once the season ends. Clubs began calling the moment I crossed the ten-goal mark,“ he told Mozzart Sport.

Who is Nyamawi Beja? His name may not be known in the football circles as he exploded into the scene this year and at the same time, has no history of playing in the lower tiers and regional leagues.

He was scouted and signed by Assad while playing for his boyhood club Menzamwenye Stars in a village tournament in the outskirts of Lungalunga.

Beja disclosed that Assad Chief Executive Officer Shukran Kuzi had gotten wind of a lethal forward who was terrorizing defenders and scoring at will in the tournament held in the villages and deployed members of the technical bench to scout him.

He signed for Assad in the mid-season transfer window of the past campaign and made his debut against Zoo FC who were still, in the second tier before being demoted to the third one.

“I had never played in the regional league leave alone the second or third tier leagues before. I remember a stranger approaching me last year after a game and asked if I could avail myself for trials at Assad. I obliged and the rest is history,” he narrated.
