Manchester United came from a goal down to beat Manchester City 2-1 at ETIHAD Stadium.
Ruben Amorim named a much-changed side after dropping both Marcus Rashford and Garnacho. Mason Mount started the game but was forced off due to injury in just 13 minutes. Phil Foden had the best chance for the home side, but his effort was pushed off the post by Onana. Ederson remained untroubled in goal in the entire first half. Josko Gvardiol then opened the scoring for Manchester City with a thumping header from De Bruyne’s cross to give the home side a 1-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Bruno missed a sitter after being set up by Ugarte as his looping effort sailed wide off the post. In the final minutes of the game, Nunes poor back pass was picked by Diallo, who kept his composure against rushing Ederson, but Nunes conceded a penalty in an attempt to redeem himself. Bruno Fernandes calmly slotted the ball past Ederson to level things up. United managed to steal the win after Diallo was freed up by Martinez and looped past Ederson and gave United the win.
Speaking after the game, Ruben Amorim was pleased by the performance of Amad. “He’s so good, so humble. But let’s stay calm with Amad and keep calm”. Ten Hag and Van Nistelrooy did a great job with him; we continue that. Really important”, told Sky.
