Harambee Stars assistant coach Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani has praised AFC Leopards coach Fred Ambani, calling him the ideal leader to end the club’s league title drought.
Kimani, who played for Ingwe from 2013 to 2015, applauded Ambani after Leopards’ recent Mashemeji Derby win—their first over Gor Mahia in more than two years.
Kimani emphasized Ambani’s deep connection to the club, noting that Ambani was part of the squad that last won the league title in 1998. He said Ambani understands what it takes to bring success back to AFC Leopards.
Despite criticism and fan pressure, Ambani’s tactical decisions in the derby, including key second-half substitutions, helped secure a confident road victory.
The win propelled Leopards to seventh place in the league standings, just three points behind leaders Kenya Police, showing strong promise under Ambani’s guidance.
