AFC Leopards’ chairperson Dan Shikanda has admitted that the club has performed great after the FKF-PL first leg. Leopards sit fifth eight points behind the log leader Gor Mahia.

Shikanda disclosed that at the start of the season, the club was a bit in the mayhem keeping in mind that ten of their new recruits were barred from taking part in matches amid the transfer ban saga.

However, four of the ten players were granted the green light to take in matches and shot Patrick Aussems led- team in the arm.

“We are satisfied with the performance. We started with some difficulties, but we managed to survive the storm,” he disclosed.

Shikanda believes that AFC Leopards are still in contention for clinching the FKF-PL title for the first time since 1999.

“The key here is to remain competitive. As you know for a long time Leopards have not been competitive and have approached the big teams of the league such as Tusker and Gor Mahia as underdogs, but that has now changed. We can compete against any team in the league. Teams now fear us. If we can maintain that then I’m certain that even if we don’t win it this season then there’s a huge possibility next season.” He added
