France winger Antoine Griezmann has announced his retirement from international football.

The Atletico Madrid winger has played for France and helped them win several trophies, including the World Cup in Russia in 2018, while also reaching the finals of the Euros in 2016 and the World Cup finals in 2022. Griezmann had started in every France game since 2018, as he was the main star of the Didier Deschamps team.

Griezmann has closed the chapter for international football, with his last tournament being the Euros 2024, where they were eliminated by Spain. He has earned 135 caps for France and has scored 44 goals, making him the fourth-all-time top scorer after making his international debut in 2014.

Griezmann released a statement confirming the retirement. “I close this wonderful chapter of my life; thanks for all the memories,” he quoted.
