Arsenal defeated PSG 2-0 in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium to continue their impressive start.

German international Kai Havertz opened the scoring after a superb cross by Leandro Trossard to give them the lead after a superb header past Italian goalkeeper Donnarumma.David Raya had to be alert and push away Hakimi’s effort on the other side as PSG were looking for a leveller.

Bukayo Saka then added the second goal from a free kick after being brought down by Nuno Mendes, although Donnarumma should have done better. Joao Neves struck the bar for PSG, while Lee Kang saw his effort pushed away by Raya as Arsenal managed to hold on to a 2-0 win.

Speaking after the game, Bukayo Saka said he told the team to make a statement win in Europe. “When I was speaking with the boys in the team talk before the game, I told them: We have to make a big statement tonight.” We haven’t shown our full quality in Europe against big opponents; tonight, yes… but we need to do that also away now.” He said.
