Martinelli scores for Arsenal

Arsenal maintained their lead at the top of the table with a narrow 1-0 victory away at Leicester City.

Arsenal continued their quest for the Premier League title with an important 1-0 victory away at Leicester City. In the first half, both teams went neck-to-neck, with Leicester City defending well. Eventually Arsenal broke the deadlock when January signing Leonard Trossard scored with a beautiful curling goal to give them the lead. After a VAR check, the goal was disallowed as Ben White was deemed to have fouled Leicester City goalkeeper Dany Ward.

After the break, Gabriel Martinelli played a lovely exchange with Trossard and eventually scored the goal, which gave the league leaders the lead just minutes after the halftime break. Leicester City had their chances to level the scores, but they could not as they were missing their playmaker James Madison, who missed the game.

After the game, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was happy with Leandro Trossard’s performance after the win. “He did really well.” “I think he was really good; I think he got involved in many situations that could have ended up in many more big chances; he was involved in the incredible goal that he scored that was disallowed,” he said.
