Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League in the quarterfinals after a 1-0 defeat by Bayern Munich in the second leg.

Arsenal started the game on the bright side, as they attacked well. Martin Odegaard’s shot was brilliantly saved by Nuer. Martinelli also had a glorious chance to score, but his effort went straight into the goalkeeper. Bayern Munich had their chances through Jamal Musiala, who saw his effort put away by Raya. Kane’s effort was also saved as they went into halftime goalless.

In the second half, both teams improved their game, but it was Bayern Munich that got the opening goal through Joshua Kimmich in the 63rd minute of the game. Arsenal wanted to respond quickly, but they created very little to worry Bayern Munich as they went on to win 1-0 and knock out Arsenal.

Speaking after the loss, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said they need to learn from the loss. “We haven’t played in the competition for seven years; we haven’t been in this position for 14 years. There’s a reason for it, and we want to do everything.” We have to learn it. It takes years to make it happen for every club, if you look at that.” He said.
