Arsenal moved a step closer to the title after a narrow 1-0 win over West Ham.

Mikel Arteta’s side are close to a historic Premier League win with just 2 games remaining. Leandro Trossard had the first chance of the game, but his effort was tipped away by Hermansen. Mavrapanos then blocked off Calafiori’s effort as the gunners looked threatening early on. Summerville then had a glorious chance, but his effort went wide. David Raya then did well to push away Castellanos’ header.

In the second half, West Ham then had a great start with Pablo almost finding the net from a cross in the box. Matheaus Fernandes then missed a one-on-one as his effort was saved by David Raya. Leandro Trossard then opened the scoring for the Gunners via an Odegaard cutback. Calum Wilson thought he had levelled the scoring for West Ham in the added time, but VAR ruled out the goal for a foul on Raya.

Speaking on the late VAR drama, Mikel Arteta applauded the referees. “Sometimes I’ve been critical with the referees or doubting consistency. Today they took a brave decision.”When you look at it with clarity, it’s very clear that it’s a FOUL and a right decision. So, thank you.” He said.
