Chelsea striker and Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has officially joined AS Roma on loan until 30 June 2024. Lukaku returns to Serie A after previously featuring for Inter Milan.
The Belgium international will reunite with manager Jose Mourinho, who previously coached Lukaku during his first spell at Chelsea and later signed him at Manchester United in 2017.
The former Manchester United and Everton star has not been part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans at Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku has been left out of Chelsea matches this season as Mauricio Pochettino made it clear that the striker was not in his plans of this season.
AS Roma confirmed on their club website the signing of Lukaku with the following statement, “AS Roma is delighted to confirm the loan signing of Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.”
