Barcelona midfielder Pablo Gavi is expected to be sidelined for a lengthy spell after rupturing his ACL while on international duty.

After just 26 minutes, the 19-year-old was replaced because he was clutching his knee. As Spain’s medical staff assisted him off the field, he started crying.

Luis de la Fuente’s squad won the game 3-1 without him. Early signs point to an ACL rupture, according to Diario AS, which would require six to eight months of rest before he could return to the pitch and prematurely end his season.

Barcelona is expected to confirm the bad news later today, as they have already confirmed the test results for the injury. Gavi has been a key member of the Xavi team this season, and it will be a big blow if an injury hits the Barcelona team.
