Barcelona expressed their disappointment to the referee after being knocked out by Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Inter Milan knocked out La Liga giants Barcelona after winning 4-3 in the extra time of the Champions League, which was played at San Siro. Inter Milan were awarded a penalty kick in the stroke of half-time after Curbasi had appeared to bring down Lautaro Martinez. As the game was coming to a conclusion, Inter Milan defender Dumfries appeared to have fouled Barcelona left-back Martinez in the build-up to the goal, but the goal stood.

Head coach Hansi Flick was far from happy with the referee for favouring the home side. “Every 50/50 decision that the ref had, he called it in Inter’s favour. This makes me sad.” He said

Pedri also questioned the referee’s decisions. “In the penalty against Lamine, which was called a foul, the ref didn’t yellow card Mkhitaryan, who already had a yellow card. He would have been sent off,” agreed Flick. This ref gave them all of the 50/50 calls in their favour.” He said.
