Manchester United produced an entertaining comeback at Old Trafford, defeating Ipswich Town 5–2 in a seven-goal Premier League thriller.
Ipswich started the match brightly and stunned the home supporters when Leif Davis opened the scoring in the 29th minute. United, however, responded before half-time when captain Bruno Fernandes found the net in the 40th minute to level the score after a lovely counterattack.
The second half belonged to Manchester United. United moved ahead when Jacob Greaves turned the ball into his own net before Fernandes converted a penalty to make it 3–1 after Cunha was brought down in the box. The Portuguese midfielder completed his hat-trick with another close-range finish, giving United a commanding advantage.
Bryan Mbeumo then added United’s fifth goal with a spectacular long-range effort. Ipswich managed to score a late consolation through Chuba Akpom, but United held on comfortably for a 5–2 victory.
