Chelsea and Liverpool played a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

Liverpool took the lead through Luis Diaz after being set up perfectly by Mohammed Salah in the opening 20 minutes. Salah scored the second goal, but VAR ruled it out for offside. Chelsea grew back into the game and found the leveller through debut defender Disasi, who finished off a Chilwell header. Chilwell then scored the second goal a minute later, but again, VAR ruled it out for offside.

In the second half, Chelsea were the better side as they created chances, but they could not capitalise on the chances as the game went to a 1-1 draw.

Speaking after the game, Mauriccio Pochettino said they deserved to win the game. “We feel pleased but at the same time disappointed because we wanted to win and we deserved to win, but it is only the beginning,”.We have created a very good way to work here, and that is important. The connection from day one has been fantastic.” He said.
