Chelsea have today suffered a blow in their quest for European football next season.

Belgium midfielder Romeo Lavia has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to an injury set back in his recovery process. Lavia was signed last summer from Southampton and has spent most of his time in recovery, as he has only featured once against Crystal Palace last year.

Chelsea released a statement today confirming the bad news to the media. “Midfielder Romeo Lavia is to unfortunately miss the remainder of our 2023–24 campaign following a setback in his recovery. Recent medical assessments have confirmed that Lavia, who sustained a significant thigh injury against Crystal Palace back in December, will not feature again this season.” Read the statement.
