Chelsea continued their impressive form as they thrashed Gent 4-2 in the UEFA conference on Thursday evening at Stamford Bridge.

Defender Renato Veiga opened his account for Chelsea with a thumbing header from Mudryk cross in the early minutes of the game.Chelsea failed to add another goal as Hall missed a great chance as they led 1-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Pedro Neto scored his second goal for Chelsea just moments after the restart after a lovely long ball by Disasi.Gent pulled one back when Tsuyoshi Watanabe headed in in the 59th minute. Christopher Nkunku killed any hopes of a Gent comeback when he scored his eighth goal of the campaign after a loose ball by Gent defenders.Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall then opened his scoring for Chelsea with the fourth goal for the Maresca side. Gent got their second goal from Omri Gandelman, but it was too late as Chelsea won 4-2.

Speaking after the game, Enzo Maresca was impressed by Chelsea’s performance, and they still need to improve. “Good performance. It was a tough game, and we approached it very well. It’s a shame the second goal we conceded; we can avoid that. Every game is complicated. We have many things we can do better—attack better, defend better. The ones who play tonight don’t mean they won’t play the next game.” He said.
