David De Gea is no longer Manchester United player after the expiry of his contract earlier today, as per reports.
Manchester United are reluctant to extend his contract, and exploring other replacements as the shot stopper is prone to errors, according to the club coach Erik Ten Hag. The tactician has however shown interest in signing Andre Onana from Inter Milan, a deal that is expected to be completed next week. Reports have linked De Gea to Saudi Arabian move, but are not yet confirmed nor finalized as intermediaries are still negotiating the deal
The keeper has been in the club for 12 years and has had a successful spell at the Old Trafford having won the Premier League, FA Cup, Europa League among other individual awards.
According to Manchester United pundits, De Gea will be considered a club legend at the club for his outstanding performance, latest being a golden glove award for keeping the most clean sheets in the just concluded season.
