The race to secure the two automatic promotion slots to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League continue today with the duo of Shabana and Murang’a Seal in action against respective opponents.
Should Shabana and Murang’a Seal gather maximum points today, they will be promoted to the top tier as they will have attained unassailable tallies.
The two sides enjoy a significant gap between them and the third and fourth-placed teams that, have been left to fight for the promotion/relegation playoff slot.
The teams are separated by goal difference at the top as both have an identical tally of 61 points with Seal sitting at the top thanks to their impressive goal returns.
Seal, who have played an extra game are set to take on Coastal Heroes at the Mbaraki grounds in a game that has been scheduled to start at 1:00 pm.
The Vincent Nyaberi-coached side hasn’t tasted defeat in the last fifteen league rounds and will hope to skin the coastal side alive and extend their superb run.
Seal last lost a game in March when they fell 2-0 to Shabana in a game they finished with down with ten men. They take on Heroes who are looking to redeem themselves after falling 1-0 to MCF in their previous assignment.
The second-placed Shabana will host Migori Youth at the Gusii Stadium in what is expected to be a closely contested match as both teams harbor hopes of getting promotion.
Shabana head into the game aware that a slip-up will delay their confirmation of promotion to the top tier. The Glamour Boys played Gusii FC to a barren draw in their last outing.
