The newly appointed coach has issued a heartwarming message to Chelsea fans as he is announced as the new coach, taking over from Mauricio Pochettino, who left the club after the end of the season.
In his speech, Maresca said:

When I got a call from Chelsea, Me and my staff had the feeling that this was too good an opportunity not to take and personally, I felt this was a chance I could not let go away. We could not miss this opportunity to be part of this club and to be part of the Chelsea family. Working with this squad and competing in the toughest league in the Premier League and of course the Champions League is something we are excited to take on. To the fans, your unwavering support and loyalty are the lifeblood of this club. I promise to give you a team that you can be proud of, one that will fight for every ball, every goal, and every victory.
