Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has sent a message to Manchester United fans after losing on Sunday against Man City.

“While this has not been the start to the season we all hoped for, I am certain that we have the talent and attitude as a collective to move in the right direction.

I continue to believe in these players and I am confident we will improve after a difficult start to the season.

Nobody at this club enjoys defeat, particularly in a Manchester derby like last Sunday, but everything we have achieved together so far has been built on looking forward, which means we have to move on quickly.

I believe that it’s only a matter of time before we are showing our true selves. It will come, I am certain.”

Manchester United fans hoped their team could compete for the titles this season after registering promising results last season where they managed to finish in third position behind Manchester City and Arsenal.

Last season Manchester United United also managed to win Carabao Cup which gave them hope that the club was moving forward but things seem not to be as they thought.

This season, Manchester United have managed only 5 wins in 10 games so far, they have lost against Spurs who tops the league standings.

They have also lost to Brighton, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and the recent defeat in the Manchester derby.

United have also struggled in the champions league where they have managed only 1 win in 3 games, and they seem they might fail to qualify to the next round as they occupy third position in group A.

Tonight Manchester United will welcome Newcastle United at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup.

Manchester United will have to be at their best as Newcastle United will be aiming at revenging after they lost 2-1 to Manchester United in the final last season. The match will kick off at 1115hrs.
