Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick as Manchester City eased 5-1 past Fulham at Etihad Stadium.
Julian Alvarez gave City the lead in the first before Ream scored for Fulham shortly after. Nathan Ake scored the second before halftime with claims of offside calls, but the goal stood.
In the second half, Erling Haaland scored three goals to sink Fulham and move them to the top of the Premier League standings.
Speaking after the game, Fulham boss Marco Silva said VAR made a mistake in allowing City’s goal to stand. “Everyone that plays football and has some knowledge of the game would be 100% sure [the VAR] has to disallow the goal,” he said. “The more times you see that, the more you know it has to be disallowed.” The player pulled away from the line of the ball and into the direction of the goal. It is a clear offside. It is impossible for the VAR not to see it.” He concluded.
