Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been left out of the Ghana squad for the Afcon.

Partey has been sidelined since October due to a harmstring injury he suffered and has not been featured since for Mikel Arteta side.Tariq Lamptey also missed out due to injury, while West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus is expected to lead the forward line together with Jordan Ayew.

Speaking after revealing his squad for Afcon, Ghana head coach Chris Hughton said injury is the only reason to be left out. “This is the biggest injury that he has had.”. The most important thing for me as head coach and for our association is to give him the support that he needs through this period of time. Withstanding his injury, he certainly would be in the squad.” said Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton.
