GOR MAHIA

Record Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions Gor Mahia enjoyed a 1-0 victory over Tusker FC at Kasarani Stadium, but experienced a notable decline in gate revenue.

The club announced ticket sales totaling Ksh827,200, a drop of Ksh496,600 compared to their previous home game against Ulinzi Stars, which brought in Ksh1,323,800. A total of 2,297 tickets were sold, including early bird, VVIP, VIP, and regular matchday purchases.

Despite the dip in revenue, Gor Mahia continued their strong form on the field thanks to an own goal by Tusker goalkeeper Brian Opondo, securing the three points.

The win pushed the Charles Aknoor-coached side to 19 points at the top of the FKF Premier League, extending their unbeaten run to six matches. Treasurer Gerphas Okuku thanked fans for their unwavering support and encouraged continued backing despite the financial setback. This victory solidifies Gor Mahia’s position as league leaders with a comfortable four-point gap over their nearest rivals.
