Engin Firat: Harambee Stars Head Coach
The Harambee Stars tactician Engin Firat has revealed why he released the 22-year-old Gor Mahia forward Benson Omalla despite his red-hot form.
Omalla has netted 19 times for Gor Mahia this season, sitting pretty at the helm of the FKF-PL chart.
The Turkish-born coach had to say this about the upcoming Harambee Stars future legend.
“Benson is unlucky because we have Masud, we have Michael and it is not easy. Don’t push the young players, let them develop. If I didn’t trust any player, then I would not have called them in camp. The door is always open, especially to young players. But, being a top scorer is not guaranteed to have a place in the team.”
Harambee Stars will be back to action against Iran today at 8:00 pm EAT.
