Ilkay Gundogan was the pivotal player as Manchester City defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final to maintain their chances of winning the treble.

In just 13 seconds, the 32-year-old broke the deadlock for the Premier League champions with a fine shot from outside the box which left DeGea stranded.Manchester United responded later in the half aftet VAR awarded them a penaty after Grealish handball in the box.Bruno Fernandes comfortably converted the penalty kick.

In the second half Gundogan followed  up with another shot from outside the area from DeBruyne cross and city regained the lead.Many United fans will feel De Gea should have saved the effort on goal. United did push for a leveller late on through substitute Garnacho, but his effort just sailed wide off the post.

City were able to hold on to the win, and Pep Guardiola’s side remain keen on the historic treble quest. Pep Guardiola also won his first FA Cup since coming to England.
