Belgium forward Kevin De Bruyne has expressed his frustration with the team after a disappointing 2-0 loss to France.

Things have not been going well for the Belgium national team since the 2022 World Cup. In what was once the number one ranked team for more than 2 years, Belgium have struggled to keep tabs at the highest level.

De Bruyne was frustrated with the team’s lack of effort in the game against France. I cannot repeat that in the media, but it has to be better in every way,” said the 33-year-old. “If the standard we want to reach is the best, but we’re no longer good enough to get to that level, then you have to give everything. If you don’t even do that, it’s over,” he said.

He also added that the tactics of the coach are very poor. “If you stay with six at the back, there is no connection,” he added. “It is what it is. It is not about transition, but about people who do not perform their tasks.” He said.
