NBA star LeBron James has announced his decision to play for the Philadelphia 76ers in the upcoming season.
James, who is considered the greatest by several fans, announced early this month that he will be leaving the Lakers after spending more than 10 years in the city. He guided them to a championship victory in the 2020 bubble. This upcoming season will be his 24th season in the NBA, the most by any player. He has now signed a minimum veteran salary with the Sixers on a 2-year deal.
Speaking on his decision to join the Sixers, LeBron insisted he wants another shot at the NBA title. “This is my last decision. I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point? I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team, and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time.”Thank you, LA. Miami, I’ll forever love, and Northeast Ohio will always be home!” he tweeted.
The Sixers have been very active as they have added Jaylen Brown from the Celtics and now LeBron.
