PSG manager Christophe Galtier has confirmed that Lionel Messi will leave the club at the end of the season.

Messi has been in excellent form this year, producing 16 goals and 16 assists in Ligue 1, but he’s ready to take on a new challenge right now. Given that he traveled to Saudi Arabia earlier this season without permission and, as a result, was suspended by his club, the country seems to be the World Cup winner’s most likely destination. The Saudi FA’s president has also publicly acknowledged the nation’s interest.

Barcelona is also keen on Messi’s return, but they are still waiting on the financial books to see if they can accommodate him.

Speaking ahead of PSG’s last game against Clermont, Galttier said he was priviliged to coach Messi. “I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. It will be Leo’s last match at the Parc des Princes against Clermont”. He said.
