Mohamed Salah was once again the star for Liverpool in a thrilling four-goal encounter against Aston Villa, as the Reds secured a 2-2 draw at Villa Park on Wednesday night.
The Egyptian scored one goal and assisted another, ensuring Liverpool avoided defeat and extended their lead at the top of the Premier League.
Liverpool began strongly, with Salah opening the scoring in the 28th minute after a through-ball from Diogo Jota.
However, Villa quickly turned the game around with goals from Youri Tielemans in the 38th minute and Ollie Watkins just before halftime.
Tielemans equalised after a header found him at the back post, while Watkins capitalised on a smart run to head in a cross from Lucas Digne.
The second half saw Liverpool pushing for an equaliser, which came in the 60th minute through Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Alexander-Arnold’s deflected shot beat Emi Martinez, levelling the score at 2-2. Trent found himself in that central position again as Mo Salah squeezed the ball to him.

Both sides had chances to win the game, with Darwin Nunez missing a glorious opportunity for Liverpool and Donyell Malen’s shot shaving the post for Villa in stoppage time.
Despite the draw, Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table extends to eight points, though Arsenal have a game in hand.
The result leaves Liverpool in control of the title race, but with Arsenal able to close the gap to five points with a win in their game in hand, the pressure remains on Arne Slot’s side.
