Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League after a 6-3 thrashing of Tottenham on Sunday.
Luis Díaz opened the scoring for the slot side after a wonderful pass by Alexander Arnold. Alexis MacAllister scored the second after Spurs failed to clear Robertson’s cross. James Maddison then curled in a beautiful goal after Mac Allister lost the ball in a dangerous position. Salah then set up Dominic Szoboszlai to slot in the third for the slot side just before the break.
After the restart, Salah scored his first of the game after Spurs defenders failed to clear Gakpo’s cutback. Salah scored again minutes later after Szoboszlai freed him up for his 228th goal for Liverpool. Kulusevski then volleyed home a goal to reduce the deficit for the home side. Dominic Solanke then added another goal just minutes later as the crowd cheered on. Luis Diaz then scored the sixth goal for Liverpool to kill any hopes of a Spurs comeback.
Speaking after the game, Mohammed Salah insisted they were good in goal. “Records? I just keep working hard! We were quite good in front”.Defensively we have to improve as a team. To concede three goals is quite hard. Virgil will speak better than me about that”.He said.
