Arsenal were knocked out of the FA Cup yesterday after a 2-0 home loss to Liverpool.

Liverpool and Arsenal were meeting for the second time within a month in the FA Cup at the Emirates. Both sides named a rotated side, with Liverpool missing Virgil Van Djik and Mohammed Salah and Arsenal missing Gabriel Jesus to injury while Raya and Martinelli were rested. In a first half largely dominated by Arsenal, Kai Havertz, who was playing as a striker, missed two key chances as both efforts were brilliantly saved by Allison.

In the second half, Liverpool improved with an early shot by Darwin Nunez that sailed wide off the bar. Bukayo Saka had two quick chances, but he could not capitalise on them. Liverpool eventually got the breakthrough when Kiwior pushed an Alexander Arnold free kick into his own net. Bukayo Saka had a chance to level almost immediately, but his curling effort sailed off the post. Luis Diaz scored the second goal for Liverpool after a strong counterattack led by Diogo Jota.

Arsenal have now lost back-to-back games for the first time this season.
