West Ham united midfielder and Brazilian international Lucas Paqueta has been withdrawn from Brazil Squad amid betting investigations that are being carried out by FA and FIFA.

The 25-year-old is believed to have been booked in games which the bets have been placed on. He was booked 9times both for the club and the national team.

The betting allegations have stalled his move to Manchester City. Currently the deal is on hold until the investigation is over and the issue is solved.

Paqueta has suffered a blow as he will not be able to represent his national team in world cup qualifier games against Peru and Bolivia that will take place in September.

Brazil interim head coach Fernando Diniz said: “Paqueta was on the list. He’s a player I like a lot. It’s a time for him to resolve these issues. People need time to sort out these issues. He’s a player I love.”
