Manchester City have completed the signing of Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández from Chelsea for £125 million,
The 25-year-old has signed a five-year contract and reunites with former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca at the Etihad.
Fernández joined Chelsea from Benfica in January 2023 for around £107 million. During his Stamford Bridge career, he made 170 appearances, scored 31 goals and provided 30 assists. He also helped Chelsea win the UEFA Conference League in 2025 and the FIFA Club World Cup later that year.
At Chelsea, Fernández worked under Graham Potter, Frank Lampard, Mauricio Pochettino, Enzo Maresca and Xabi Alonso. His final season was his most productive, with 15 goals and seven assists.City will hope Fernández can bring creativity, energy and control to their midfield as they look to challenge for major trophies and be able to replace Rodri who left for Barcelona.
Chelsea however will feel a bit furious as the deal for Enzo replacement which was Lamine Camara fell through on the final hours.
