Manchester United have confirmed the sacking of Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag.

The Red Devils suffered another defeat against West Ham on Sunday, and they have now chosen to fire the Dutchman. Ten Hag has been in charge since 2022 and signed a new contract this summer, but his time at Old Trafford is up. Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over as interim manager. United currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League standings, having endured one of the worst start to Premier League campaigns in recent years.

Manchester United have confirmed the news via a club statement: “We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited.”read the statement.
