Manchester United have confirmed that midfielder Casemiro has suffered a harmstring and will be out of a few weeks.
The Brazilian midfielder was substituted at halftime in the 3-0 loss to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night. He was making a return from an ankle injury that he suffered during a previous international break.
The midfielder, who was signed from Real Madrid, will now be sidelined for a few weeks as he has suffered a hamstring injury. Manchester United have today released a statement confirming the bad news. “Casemiro will be out for several weeks due to a hamstring injury suffered during our Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle United on Wednesday. The Brazilian midfielder was withdrawn at halftime due to the issue, and subsequent assessment has revealed a strain that will keep him out for a number of weeks.” He said.
It is a big blow to Erik Ten Hag, who has been under immense pressure, especially in recent weeks when they have lost back-to-back games at Old Trafford.
